Sailing

The weather was great for black and white photography as the sky had interesting clouds. The bleak mountains in the background were softened by the atmospheric haze and the overcast sky had just started to clear to deliver the sunny day that had been promised but arrived late.

A standard telephoto was used and this image is uncropped. I waited for the sailboat to hit the position I wanted but the sailboat turned around before it got to where I wanted it and sailed in the opposite direction. He went a short distance and turned back around and I was rewarded with this image. I am glad that I continued to watch him or I would have missed this opportunity.
