This is a lovely bridge in Beacon Hill park in Victoria that I enjoyed viewing from a park bench while eating a picnic lunch. The challenge was to capture it without a bunch of people looking over the edge as the park was packed with tourists and locals enjoying the Labour Day weekend. Fall is starting to appear but it was a wonderful warm sunny day and that is the feeling I wanted to create.
I used the wonderfully light Sony Nex – 7, with a prime lens, mounted on a tripod. The tripod allowed me to capture the full depth of field throughout the image and ensure a razor sharp photo. The tripod also allowed me to carefully compose the image. Many people do not want to bother with a tripod but I find it helps me achieve the images I want. It was a wonderful date with my wife and this scene will remind me of the pleasures of the outing.
