Description
This image is of the town of Ladysmith, Vancouver Island, British Columbia in Canada. It was captured early in the morning at Christmas time just before the sun came so the sky was a beautiful indigo color. I have sold countless card of this image and 2 large prints.
Strangely, I have had a number of people think I took this with an ultra wide angle as a single shot! This was a carefully taken with a number of standard pictures and converted into a panorama. The panorama was then transformed into a little planet using specialty software.
It was very challenging experience capturing this image as I could not believe how busy the street was with cars so early in the day. My camera was sitting in the middle of the street and it had to be removed a number of times due to approaching cars.

The thing about a fisheye shot would be that the center would be the sky, unless you used a drone. Yours shows the ground. Your explanation makes sense.
